The documentary directed by Rob Van Hattum explores the inspiring stories of individuals in China, Egypt, Spain, and India who have dedicated themselves to the transformative task of restoring large expanses of eroded or degraded land, turning them into fertile havens. One compelling narrative unfolds in India, where the spotlight is on Jadav Payeng, an extraordinary individual who, with unwavering determination, has single-handedly planted a lush forest covering 1300 acres on once-eroded floodplains.
Jadav Payeng's efforts have not only revived the barren landscape but have also fostered a thriving ecosystem, welcoming diverse species of flora and fauna. Among the inhabitants are elephants, rhinos, and tigers, underscoring the remarkable impact of ecological restoration. The documentary intimately captures Payeng's daily routine, providing a window into his passion and unwavering commitment to the noble cause of re-greening the earth. Through this lens, the film showcases the power of an individual's dedication to making a profound and positive impact on the environment.
